Work Flow
The Process
The development of your website is like publishing a best selling novel. The site is your novel and you are the author. Ideagin is the publisher. We want your novel to be read by thousands of readers throughout the world, which is why we chose the internet as your distributor.
The Idea Stage
The author and the publisher first sit down and talk it out. What is the novel’s purpose? What is the author trying to communicate in the novel? Is there a theme or brand the novel must keep? How many chapters and pages will be required? What is the most direct way to articulate the information? Should it be video, text content, still images or all of the above? Do you need to be able to make basic changes to the novel quickly or do you prefer to go back to the publisher each time a change or update is required?
All of these questions and more are part of the idea stage. It is also a good idea to discuss the budget at this time.
| Day 1- Putting it in writing | Now the publisher has a grasp of the novel. The plan of operation (sitemap) is developed for the author’s approval. With the plan comes the agreement to publish and requirements to start the presses. On receipt of the signed agreement the publishing begins. |
| Day 2 – Indexing the Novel | The index (wireframe) is designed with help from the publisher’s staff writers. |
| Day 3 – Index proposal | The layout (wireframe) is proposed for the author’s approval. Timing is critical. The author has 48 hours to approve the layout. |
| Day 4-5 -Waiting for approval | Now is a good time for questions and answers. |
| Day 6 – Approval in hand-admin setup | Author receives login information for the uploading of content. A publisher’s staff member will begin instructing the author on how to start updating content via the internet. |
| Day 7 – Comp Submission | Author begins to review all work from layout to content placement and graphics. NOTHING moves forward without the Author’s approval. |
| Day 8-9 – 48 hours | Timing is critical. The author has 48 hours for its revisions and/or approval. There are two revisions for this agreement. |
| Day 10-11 – CSS | Project Manager will receive PSDs and proceed to delegate the CSS programming for development. |
| Day 12-13 – Demo | A working demo will be presented to the author for a final review and approval. Any additional revisions out side of the initial two will be charged as per contract. Author will have 48 hours to make final approval. |
| Day 14 – Project Completion | The novel is now published and final invoice will be sent. Within the next thirty days should the author notice any punctuation or grammar errors, the publisher will repair these areas at no additional fee. |
